WD-40 Specialist Bike Degreaser can lengthen the life of your bike and the efficiency of your ride. Use to get grime out of intricate components like chains, derailleurs, cassette sprockets and more.
To clean your bike’s drivetrain, set your bike on a bike stand so the back wheel can spin freely as you apply WD-40 SP Specialist Bike Degreaser. Put an old towel or rag under the chain to catch spills.
From 5 to 10 inches away, spray directly on the chain where it meets the rear cassette. Turn the crank counter-clockwise (backpedal) while spraying so you cover the entire chain.
Let the foaming degreaser sit for 1-2 minutes. You should be able to see grease and grime begin to drip off the chain. For extra-dirty chains, use a scrub brush while again turning the crank counter-clockwise.
Rinse off thoroughly (optional, if you have access to water) then wipe down with a rag or towel.
Bike customers also report using WD-40 Specialist Bike Degreaser around the garage as an all-purpose degreaser for cleaning garage opener-chains, removing oil spots on floors, and more.
