WD-40® Brand Chase Truck: Race Season Begins

Vehicles designed for off-road desert racing have to be tough as nails. The hard and unyielding desert sun puts even the most durable equipment to the test, and the rugged terrain of these races takes no prisoners. But when s*** hits the fan,  who (or what) can rescue such highly specialized machines?
 
Enter the unsung hero of the off-road racing world, the chase truck. A vehicle modified to transport the gear, supplies and technicians needed to support a race contender through thick and thin. Even though it's not racing in the spotlight, these chase vehicles are absolutely critical.
 
Last year, Trad Ronfeldt and the WD-40 Brand had a vision of creating the ultimate chase truck. An unbreakable guardian for desert racers. The foundation would be none other than the battle-proven hero of the United States military, the HMMWV. Most people know the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles as "Humvees," trusted troop carriers that are truly all-terrain from the jungles of Panama to the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan.
 
After acquiring a 2006 mil-spec AM General Humvee, work began in earnest. Ronfeldt, architect of the transformation, stripped away the military surplus and began the build from the bare bones of the vehicle. Once installed, a monstrous 600-horsepower Blueprint Engines LS motor emits rumbles of thunder from all 8 cylinders. King shocks are set to soak up the punishment of the unforgiving terrain. KC lights stand ready to pierce the night and the swirling dust of desert storms.
 
Inside, the spartan interior is replaced with Sparco seats and a cockpit built for desert dominance. Wilwood brakes ensure split-second stopping power, and a Warn winch brings the mechanical muscle to pull racers through cannot-fail situations. Plan B truck components are meticulously added, a Magnaflow exhaust lets loose a throaty roar, and the BFGoodrich tires on Tremrr wheels are ready to roll out and claw over any obstacle.
 
The WD-40 Brand proudly unveiled this ultimate desert chase truck at the 2023 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. A testament to human ingenuity and mechanical mastery, this truck is built to endure nature's most hostile landscapes and come out smiling.
